Data collection: data collected between 17 and 27 March 2000.

Target population: Hungarian voters (18 years old or above) of Transylvania.

The temporal dimension of the database: cross-sectional.

Sample taking procedure: multi-scale, layered sampling. The 1992 census data on 16 Transylvanian counties constituted the starting point, which was partially completed with data from 1995, by taking into consideration the settlements’ ethnic and age distribution, as well as the town /village ratio. The settlements can be grouped according to the following criteria: ethnical dominance, the settlement’s administrative status, town/village environment,historical-geographical and territorial distribution.

Data collection procedure: questionnaire
